This, from the heart booklet, was written by a first time boarder at the end of the first term and is written entirely from the child's point of view (the booklet is suitable for boys and girls). It gives some sound advice on dealing with the challenges and getting the most from boarding school. Parents may be a little startled to find that the first tip deals with packing the parents off home as quickly as possible!
Sample Tip
Phoning your parents/guardians is important. It is best to phone them every day or every other day. If you don’t phone them, just text them ‘good night’ so that they don’t get worried and start phoning the Housemistress or Housemaster in the morning.
A reassuring and non sugary gift for the new boarder. 50 Tips.
Also available as an e-booklet delivered direct to your PC as a pdf. file, ideal as an extremely low cost way to check out the content before making a multiple order- only £1.50 (this includes VAT) and no p&p costs.
Customer Feedback
The books were very helpful - good common sense advice which will help new pupils settle.
Although we point out some of these things to our prospective new boarders, this booklet sums up the key points (and some we often forget to mention!) very succinctly.
