Course Content
 
Day One
Welcome,
domestics, course objectives, action plans
 
Overview of 7 step plan
 
Step one: Preparation - self, environment, trainee, documentation
 
Step two: Make effective contact and continue to communicate effectively throughout.
 
Step three: Clarify the task Process mapping – clarifying the task steps and developing the job guide. Remember the big picture, what happens before and after? What else do you need to think about eg Health & Safety?
 
Step four : Check current knowledge and skills Use of open and closed questions using most effective communication styles
 
Write a training plan
 
Build a live example to be trained on and produce a training guide on how to do it i.e. from gathering materials to giving feedback. (to include coffee and to be continued tomorrow)

Welcome back
 
Continue with build example and create job guide
 
Step five : Train – this will be done after steps six and seven
 
Step six: Evaluate their mastering of the skill
 
Step seven: give factual feedback in a supportive manner during and afterwards
 
Step five: Train Putting it all into action. Train another from start to finish using job guide, verbal guidance, step by step demonstrations, open questions, all to evaluate and give feedback to each other
